Unlike most other heroics, for this one, we had some prior knowledge of how to take him down. Fern has been doing this guy for a few weeks with a side group. Unfortunately, the knowledge hadn't been helping much. There was still a lot of procedures to this one we seemed to have issues with. After tweaking back and forth several times, it seems we finally figured a few things out. Sadly, even with us pushing him into the 50% range multiple times, we still got stymied and couldn't push through for the kill. Either too many people dropped and we'd be out of BRs or I'd splat and nothing could help us. Ideally, the fight should be done with a DK to mitigate the magic damage and to also self heal when the healing debuff is out. Unfortunately, our choices have been isolated to a warrior or fat bear. Shaz recently did this boss with Impending Sorrow's night group. It didn't shed much light other than a DK is very handy. We attempted him the next night and after some warm up rounds and changing some healing addons up, we finally got him in a rather clean attempt. Me tanking isn't ideal but it's what we'll need to do for awhile.
